In addition to being a long-time IKO Examiner on the water, New Wind's Director, Jim Bison, is now the only IKO Certified Snowkite Examiner in the U.S. He travels throughout the year offering courses, and also hosts training events at our kiteschools in La Ventana, Mexico and Hood River, Oregon.

In order to participate in the IKO Level 1 Instructor Training program, you must have teaching experience, or complete the IKO Assistant Instructor training course and be a certified IKO level 3 rider. The complete list of prerequisites for Instructor Training can be found on the International Kiteboarding Organization’s website.

Whether you need certifications to move forward, or you are already qualified to become a Level 1 Instructor, we can help. Check out the IKO training calendar, then contact us with any questions or for information on specific course availability in your area.

(Already certified and looking to teach? New Wind hires seasonal instructor positions on Baja and in the Gorge. Click here for current job openings.)
