STORE
Purchasing gear is a big investment. Both your performance and safety on the water can rest, in part, upon your ability to make a good decision. If you take kiteboarding lessons with New Wind, we consider it part of our on-going responsibility to help guide you through your first gear-purchasing process.
In the end, if you choose to buy your kites or boards from us, rest assured that your purchase is backed by our staff's expertise. Furthermore, if manufacturing defects arise - we'll back our products with replacements or repairs.
Ask our staff about demos in the Gorge and La Ventana, then visit our online store, or stop by the shop in Hood River to browse our inventory. As always, feel free to contact us with any questions.
RENTALS
A deposit for the full purchase price of all gear is required for kiteboarding rentals. We will fill out a credit card slip and won't run your card, unless equipment is lost or damaged. Repair costs will be charged on damaged gear and the full retail price of any equipment will be charged if lost. All kiteboarding gear is expected to be returned in the condition that it was issued. If gear is returned excessively sandy or wet, or if lines come back tangled, a $10.00 maintenance fee will be applied.
HOOD RIVER, Oregon
We don't currently offer kite rentals in the Gorge, but we're happy to rent you a board.
LA VENTANA, Mexico
We gladly rent gear to IKO Level 3 certified riders on Baja. If you don't currently hold an IKO rider's certification card, or if you are a new customer and we are not sure of your riding ability, we are happy to offer you an IKO Rental Certification course with one of our IKO certified coaches. The course is 1.5 hours long and is designed to give you an orientation to safe riding and to test your skills. The course fee is $95.00 and includes an IKO Rider's Certification card - a good investment, especially if you plan to rent gear in other kiteboarding destinations around the world.

STUDENTS
Students enrolled in kiteboarding lessons with New Wind receive special student discounts when renting a full kiteboarding package. Fees start at $85.00/day and decrease by $5.00/day on consecutive, multiple day rentals.
